Don’t Forget Your Wife

This morning as I woke up, in the usual way I cuddled our 5 week old daughter Julianna for little while as she awakened. I kept playing with her and saying over and over: “Are you Daddy’s best girl? Are you Daddy’s best girl?” Of course I had no idea this was grating on my wife who uttered a very telling complaint:

“All she has to do is spit up and breathe and she gets to be your best girl?”

Oops. This is one of those moments a husband might call a “I could of had a V8″ time. Mostly in the sense of bonking yourself on the head.

I’m going to make a point in the midst of all my doting on my two GORGEOUS daughters to give a lot of attention to my AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS wife. I think it’s easy as a dad sometimes to get tunnel vision toward your kids and in the act neglect the very woman who made all your pride possible. Though we can’t get a sitter, I’m gonna take her out for Mexican (her favorite) for lunch today. Gonna make sure I’m giving at LEAST equal time, if not more where it’s deserved ;)
