3 Decades and 8 Years
I know I’ve already blogged about turning 38, but here’s one final thought about it on how thankful I am for my life and my family.
I was never concerned with making a million dollars. My longing through my twenties was always to have a family. As it turned out, I didn’t get my wish until I turned 33. But it was just in time. I can hardly believe the blessings that have been bestowed on me.
As a kid I was some goofy buck-toothed toe-head practicing guitar to ABBA 8-tracks. Today, I’m something else that these years have made me. If you believe in a god, it’s what God made me. I had little to do with it.
Woody Allen said 70% of success in life is showing up. That’s my motto. But showing up is not always as easy as 30%. I now have 3 kids and a career in teaching. I keep this blog as a most cherished hobby. Part of what draws me to it is the element of communication with people taking the time to reflect and display their lives on the LCD. I wonder what I will learn between now and 39? Hope to touch base with you on your journey along the way!

m still trying to catch up and will participate with 8 Things I Know so I appreciate your patience. After celebrating his 38th birthday (Happy B-Day!), Damien shared some of his knowledge and life experiences with3 decades and 8 yearsas well as a look at the face behind the blog (this was another tag from Damien that I have failed to follow through with yet). Damien had some great posts in the last few weeks but one that I particularly liked was

Oh….she is gorgeous!!! And…May 22nd is my birthday, too!! (not the same year, of course!) It’s a great day and here’s a little bit of trivia…it’s also the least likely day of the year to be born. I have no idea how that was determined but October 5th is the most common b-day and May 22nd is the least.
Congrats to the whole family!!!

I’m looking forward to visiting you often. You sound like a man after those things that are most precious to me — family and God. Blessings as you continue in your role of husband and father, two great gifts given to any worthy man. Your desires were met and exceeded. Blessings always to you! Julianna is precious. Thank you very much. I went to your blog and I must say the picture is beyond cute. From that perspective our daughters look a lot alike (my 2 1/2 year old I mean, Isabella).
I am definitely going to be back to your blog again! Thanks for visiting and commenting at mine.

Well thank you. Curiosity has a new meaning when you get old enough to comprehend your own mortality. I’ve always had a strong bit of it, but these days I make sure and nurture it. It’s what keeps life interesting.
