Really, that is the time and date right now! Further evidence that every moment is amazing. After sleeping on it, I still like this “functional” based theme (as opposed to flair). The black one was OK, but this is the one I think I’m sticking with. I went through about 20-25 themes yesterday . . . coded all my widgets so I could test them all out on a test site I have, and finally bounced them off my wife. I think I’ve done my homework this time. There’s always something lost when something’s gained. You have to choose the lesser of two evils sometimes. Here’s a couple reasons I like this one:

  1. It’s a fluid layout (you can adjust it to fixed also).
  2. The colors are neutral and not “in your face” and yet, not “soft.”
  3. It is crisp, well written Wordpress code (My self-created theme had more issues than People magazine).
  4. It crops and seats the photos well. It’s the most crisp placement of large photos in a post I’ve yet come across.
  5. It has a professional looking author and support page. I am looking forward to learning from this guy.
  6. The widgets work well. (Except I learned that php widgets do not work in Explorer for ANY theme I tried, hence “Top Commentators” and few others have been put to sleep for a time.
  7. You can read the text well, and overall it is more of a “diary” looking format than a professional writer one. This is, as you may recall, the direction I have gone for Riley Central.

Ok, gotta run. need to make some copies for what is sure to be a wild Friday with my students. I am watching a colleague’s class for the second half of the day as she needs to leave for a wedding. That equals: a lotta kids!!! Much more later . . . (photos in header should be set no later than 3:30pm so check back for those, it’s likely to be a Route 66 museum or something vintage like that. Tell me what you think! Have a great day, in fact . . . have the BEST day of your life, it is possible to.
