About
Damien Riley is a teacher in the high desert of California who has been writing online since 1996. He publishes articles on psychology, inspiration, and teaching across 3 blogs. He also records an audio podcast each Friday in his garage. Damien’s mission statement is to create and innovate value that inspires people. He is a musician and also writes music to inspire people in the local bars and coffee houses where he lives. Damien shares his passion for teaching and life with the world through blogging. His most visited blog, Postcards from the Funny Farm, has a loyal following and reaches out to new readers every day.
NOTE: Damien Riley is not a therapist or a doctor. NOTE, Since some have asked: he has not been diagnosed with a mental illness. He has participated in cognitive psychology sessions off and on since 1999. He seeks to provide a platform here for open dialog on all forms of psychology and mental illness. He hopes you will participate respectfully. You should see a medical doctor for advice regarding any formal questions you have. This blog is not meant to be a substitute for such a resource.
Damien is married to Sarah Riley, also a teacher and blogger and they have three beautiful children. Damien enjoys mentoring new bloggers “when (I) have a slot open.” Since he was helped so much when he started, he thinks it makes sense to give back.
