@Jessica The Rock Chick: That is exactly the point I was making. I have more a bility to get her “construction paper” than my boss who isn’t even at a site. But oh well … it’s gotten better with this person already. Another RANT Jessica, dang … I am evolving!

@Dragon Blogger: By all means, I would recommend going above someone if you have tries at least once and the person didn’y follow through. In this case, she didn’t ever consult me.

I completely agree that you should first follow the chain of command, but bypass the chain if you aren’t getting anywhere or getting the run around. I have had similar situations on my job where my boss has delegated tasks for me to handle and some people go around straight to the higher ups, instead of through the proper channels.

As a former police department employee, I’m familiar with the “chain of command” concept. I don’t know why people bypass it at times, but it’s one of my biggest pet peeves in the workplace. I think sometimes people think going “higher up” is going to help, but sometimes the “higher up” doesn’t even know how to do or have access to what someone is asking for, right?

Well done.

I put Adsense on my main blog about a year ago now. It gets okay traffic, several hundred hits a day, yet for some reason not many people click on the ads. I think it may be because the content is so eclectic, not specific.

Anyway, I’m up around 13 bucks so far. So, it looks like I might get my first payment in a decade or so!
