Gnucash and Open Source Initiatives

I just downloaded “Gnucash” to handle my personal finances.  It is available free of charge (of course you can always make a donation).  I’ve been navigating the interface this morning and while it is nothing as flashy as Quicken, or Microsoft Money, it appears to keep and balance a checkbook along with the management of credit accounts.  That’s all this family needs!  And the good news is, we can use the $80-$400 dollars we could have spent on commercial software on pizza or something :)  more on open source initiatives later . . .

I love “open source” anything!!! Especially Star Office! Put it on all the computers and let me tell you, it’s nicer than Microsoft Office :)

Of course, I gave up PCs in favor of the Mac and have NEVER looked back. Like night and day.

People say that. I know a little about MACS, we have a few old school ones at work. Maybe someday . . . They do have a lot of open source MAC stuff out there too I understand through GNU and Sourceforge.net
