Migrate a WordPress Blog in 2,773 Steps
Okay, the title is tongue-in-cheek. The reason it took so long is because I insisted on doing it trial and error instead of actually reading the full instructions. I started Friday morning getting things ready and only now, Saturday evening am I actually ready to post on the blog. What I have done essentially is change the domain name of my blog from what was: postcardsfromthefunnyfarm.com/wordpress to a personalized domain (much tidied up I might add) at: postcardsfromthefunnyfarm.com
I want to say clearly that topclasshost.com (specifically Craig) has been my hosting provider for 2 years and Craig helped me immensely in a way that was easy to understand. For $7/month, I say they went above and beyind and I recommend them to you if you are thinking of hosting your own Wordpress install.
I also went through several tutorials and this one was the best: alexandrasamuel.com/20050630/moving-wordpress-redi...
If you take this on in your world, best of luck … backup my friend, backup! Here’s announcing to my readers that the blog should be a lot more stable on my end which means more time to meditate and write posts on inspiration which is what I plan to do starting tomorrow! You may have to resubscribe to the feed and the blog in your blogroll. I notice I lost some pictures in the migration. If this happened to one of your posts as a guest blogger, feel free to point it out and I will try and get a new birth of the picture up. I am very sorry. Just be patient and we can fix anything! Thanks for reading.

Damien, I love the new personalized domain and am happy to see you take the site in that direction. Feel free to drop me a note if there is anything that I can do to help or if you run into any problems.
