Most Favorite Failed Post
This one’s for the bloggers and writers out there. Lorelle on WordPress has a challenge going to her readers to write about their biggest failure of a post. I thought this was a great challenge so I rushed to do it. I actually have many posts I had high hopes for that received little traffic and got little comments. I’d have to say the biggest failed post was:
The Memory of Running
Here’s an excerpt:
I chose running X-country and track instead of getting a job. It was a wise decision. I have 4 years worth of remarkable memories stored away in my mind forever and anon. If you’ve run, you know that running is ethereal … other-worldly.
As a blogger, sometimes you get these notions for posts that don’t quite translate into what you envisioned. That’s the challenge of writing and specifically blog writing. I had thought about this post for a long time and imagined sharing that impression with my audience. Unfortunately, only a smattering ever read it and Jessica the Rock Chick is the only one who commented (bless her soul!)
What’s your most favorite failed post?

I don’t know if I really have any “failed posts” though some I thought would get comments never did. Somebody recently told me they would start featuring “most unpopular posts” instead of “most popular posts” and I thought that was a good idea!

Good point. I just thought “failed” might catch the eye better ;)

Hmmm…I can’t think of one post off the top of my head that I would say “failed”. Usually, it’s the other way for me. I think I just wrote and published crap and I get a better response than anticipated.
Thank you for the blessing! I could use it! Sorry I haven’t been visiting as much as usual. Miss reading you every day! As you know, I have some other stuff going on. I’m doing a little catching up tonight :)

Am I to believe that there are people out there who haven’t had all of their posts fail? I feel so insecure. Ha.

You found your prom date while working out – what a cute story to share! Lorelle’s challenge is a good one — you can give old posts the exposure it deserves. And “most unpopular posts” as Chelle noted is a very interesting idea!
