[Podcast] Quote Talk with Damien
In this, my second podcast, I got a great tip from my friend Jessica S. (I have to distinguish with an S. because my sister in law is also named Jessica and is also a blogger who reads Postcards) to go back through my thousands of archived posts and talk about one of those ideas. Thanks Jessica! As I took her advice tonight I ran across my quote page and thought it would be a great opportunity as I’m learning how to “talk to you guys” ;) to share some of these personal impressions I get from the crazy quotes I have collected.
It’s a bit longer than the last one, but I think I needed to make it longer this time. I am actually somewhat happy with my voice. Last time I sounded like I was out of breath thereby giving away my nerves. There are a few pops on the microphone etc. that I apologize for. But, I think I’m getting an idea how this should go and I hope you’ll tune in next week. I promise to have a new concept. It might have something to do with the amazing inventions of Rome, but nothing is set in stone yet ;)
Thanks for listening to this podcast. Oh and one last thing, I wanted to say thank you to Nick for his encouraging comment about my podcast last week. With wobbly legs, I am kind of learning how to do this as I go along so the positive vibes are appreciated! We’ll see where it goes.

Damien, this was great!!! I love the quotes you chose and your explanations of what they meant to you. I was especially drawn to a comment you made about how, even as a young child, you’ve wanted to make things better than they were. That really spoke to me because I’ve always felt that way, too. Maybe it’s the naive optimist in me but I always think it can be done. I think you nailed it with the last quote, too. What a wonderful reminder to appreciate what you have and to remember to live while you’re living. You’re right, it’s sometimes very hard to do in this crazy world with all the worries about money. We sometimes have to just stop ourselves and remember that quote that says the best things in life are free.
Hey, is your sister in law a Rock Chi, too?????
Great job!

Great Post Damien, really liked the similar theme about appreciation. I did a blog post on dragonblogger this morning about teaching people to use Audacity and Blubrry powerpress to create audio posts we both seem to be getting better at it rather quickly.

Thanks Justin. I’ve wondered what a “podcast” was for some time. I still don’t know if I am 100% sure. The idea of spreading positive energy through it is exciting.
