Most themes suck. I found this one and I am gonna add high desert photos for the header. It's got a clean look and that is what I'm looking for. As such, I think this one is just fine as it certainly doesn't detract from your writing and even seems to lend a touch of gravitas with the simple lines and subdued colors. There is certainly a cost to finding and maintaining a theme, too. I use Tarski, on my site, and there are semi-regular updates to it that need to be installed (and have occasionally been a bit cranky post-upgrade). Hopefully this theme is easier for you to maintain than Tarski has been for me to maintain in the past... I think the art of theme-picking is to find one that makes the site visually pleasing but doesn’t distract from the words you write.
