Okay, it’s a negative title . . . so shoot me. Looking on the bright side only goes so far sometimes. Without identifying the stuff in life you dislike, you are doomed to continue in it. So, here’s a few things that I am currently “not thankful for.”
My finances:
I make a decent living by local standards. Still, we are always out of money at the end of the month. Getting paid monthly at my salary is kind of like “feast for a week, moderately watch spending for a week, worry for a week, and then scrape for the last week.” Then after the first it starts all over again. Don’t get me wrong, there are months we coast, maybe some extra hours teaching guitar or some sort of after school teaching thing. Oh yeah, and then there are those unexpected credit cards that come in the mail every once in awhile. Those are fun, but of course you know the strangest thing about them is that they expect to be paid back! I don’t know if it will be when my wife starts teaching of if when we can actually become master budgeters, but I will be so much more thankful when we can get through the month not pinching. How I long for the day!
The back window on my Jeep:
It won’t roll up (self explanatory).
Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice:
(My wife’s TIVO lineup).
The Writer’s strike:
Since I’ve written for free in various capacities since I was in 4th grade I think these people need to get a life. How many SNL episodes have sucked since the 70’s??? My answer: tons.
Spongebob:
(are you thankful for this idiocy pumped into our kids? Are these lame-o’s striking?)
American Idol (and the like) Music:
Love the show, fear the state of music it’s created.
… To be Continued …
I thought this short list was fitting for a post-Thanksgiving-post but that’s it for now. As you have seen, I am not always like “Stuart Smalley” below. What are you “not thankful for?”

I think unless you are really well-to-do, there’s never enough money! The prices of things keep going up faster than salaries.
Are you saying you’re not thankful for the Housewives? LOL. My husband patiently watches that show with me, too. I adore it. I used to really like Grey’s Anatomy, but I’m not sure what happened to it. Private Practice I gave up watching. Totally sucks. They need to move her back to Grey’s.
You caught me on an off rant day. I can’t think of anything right now that is bugging me LOL

That’s the beauty of humanity . . . some are in bad moods while others are not ;) Imagine if we were all cranky together???
And BTW . . . What did you think of the carotid artery episode? Holy Schmoly! Can’t wait to see the next one.
Your list brought a smile to my face. I can definitely relate to your comment regarding the credit card company expecting to be paid… how dare they?! lol
Good call on "American Idol". Ever since the show started, I felt that they should open it up and feature a more diverse pool of singers. I mean, why shouldn’t with singing talent over the age of 30 be deemed ineligible? One of my nieces was telling me that for the upcoming season, American Idol contestants will be allowed to play instruments during their performances. That’s a step in the right direction.
