[Podcast] What Makes a Winner?

Welcome to my first real attempt at a podcast.  It wasn’t the Mp3 conversion that was the toughest nor the recording of the several minute speech.  No friends, it was the rain that kept my dog in with me in the garage where I recorded it, my 2 daughters wanting to climb me as I was trying to make the thing, and finally just before SNL when I finally had a chance to record it, my son laying on the inflatable raft staring at me begging to watch me record it.  Those were the hardest parts. I originally planned to perform my new song but the lateness of the hour made it impossible.  Soon.

I’ll tell you right now I did this speech twice in my garage and I am not happy with the sound of my voice, I think I sound stressed, but sometimes when you start something new like a workout or a new musical instrument, you have to give yourself the right to be imperfect at first.  Thanks for extending me the same courtesy!

I’m new at this, but I think a very good message exists in between my nervous gasps LOL!  There you go.

At any rate, if you don’t have an ipod and you don’t listen to MP3’s, this new venture will not affect you much.  Anyone can access the MP3’s I record at the footer of emails in this category.  I explain in a little more detail and give a subscription link in an announcement post.

If you listen, the player is in the footer of this post.  I hope it gives you some inspiration.  Below I am posting my notes I used as I gave the speech.  Thanks for webbing in dudes and dudettes!

___________My Notes___________

What Makes a Winner at the game of life?

Most people in this economy are afraid of becoming losers at the game of life.

2 exs.

In my field …

The truth is, a winner is the same rain or shine.

So how would I define a winner?  Here are some guidelines.

1. Set the goal.

2. Meet the goal.

3. Enjoy success.

4. Analyzes failure.

4. Stays humble.

5. Gives back.

6. Repeat.

In uncertain times, you can always be a winner.  You decide the criteria.

Ok, I know that I previously said that I was probably not going to tune in to the podcasts on a regular basis, I haven’t listened to this one yet, but after reading your notes, I think I might have to listen to it and maybe even become a loyal listener :D

Ok, I am loving this!!! I don’t think you sound stressed at all and I know it’s weird, but hearing your voice actually adds to the personal feel of the blog. I say keep these coming!
